Buenos Aires, April 2026 — Following the success of its first edition, CMDC® announces the opening of the sample submission period for all countries wishing to compete in the second edition of the competition, which will take place on September 17, 2026, at El Central restaurant, at La Rural Trade Fair Center in Buenos Aires.
Created to recognize the world’s best ribeye and striploin steaks, CMDC® brought together more than 350 industry leaders from different countries in 2025 and established itself as a key platform for assessing quality and shaping the future of meat at a global level. Now, its second edition aims to further expand its reach and international participation.
Those interested in competing can now register and submit their samples via https://cmdc.com.ar/envio-de-muestras/. The competition is open to producers, meat processors, and establishments from all countries, and samples will be accepted until August 17, 2026. Ribeye and striploin samples will be classified according to their feeding system (grass-fed or grain-fed).
CMDC® will award Gold, Silver, and Bronze Medals in both categories. The results will be published on the official CMDC® website and shared across its social media channels. In addition, winners will receive an official distinction to use on their products, certifying the quality and international recognition achieved at the World Meat Championship.
The World Meat Championship – CMDC® is an initiative led by Dr. Luis Barcos, founder of the Argentine School of Meat Sommeliers, together with AmeriCarne magazine and Messe Frankfurt Argentina. The second edition will take place alongside Tecno Fidta, the International Food Technology, Additives, and Ingredients Exhibition, which will also be held during those days at La Rural, strengthening the link between quality, innovation, and professional development.
