Buenos Aires, Argentina — Following a successful first edition, the World Meat Championship – CMDC® will return on September 17, 2026, at El Central restaurant at La Rural, once again bringing together in Buenos Aires producers, meat processors, exporters, chefs, and industry specialists from around the world.
CMDC® is the international competition that recognizes the world’s finest cuts through a rigorous, blind evaluation process based on high technical standards, establishing itself as a global benchmark for the meat industry.
The 2025 edition was a key meeting point for the international meat value chain. It brought together representatives from Argentina, Uruguay, Brazil, Peru, Paraguay, Spain, Ireland, and the United Kingdom, and featured the participation of more than 350 expert judges, including Meat Sommeliers, trained consumers, and renowned chefs and international specialists, who evaluated the cuts based on technical criteria such as tenderness, juiciness, and flavor.
In 2026, CMDC® is raising the bar and will once again bring together the industry’s leading players, reaffirming its commitment to excellence, innovation, and the development of the sector.
“We continue to pursue our goal of showcasing meat quality and every link in the value chain, from farm to fork,” said Dr. Luis Barcos, Director and organizer of the competition. He added: “I invite everyone to save the date—September 17—and join us. More news about CMDC® 2026 will be shared soon.”
The World Meat Championship – CMDC® is an initiative led by Dr. Luis Barcos, founder of the Argentine School of Meat Sommeliers, together with AmeriCarne magazine and Messe Frankfurt Argentina. The second edition will take place alongside Tecno Fidta, the International Food Technology, Additives, and Ingredients Exhibition, which will also be held during those days at La Rural, strengthening the link between quality, innovation, and professional development.
