Renowned worldwide for the quality of its beef, Argentina will host the inaugural World Meat Championship (CMDC®).
On October 30, 2025, at El Central restaurant in La Rural, Buenos Aires, the world’s best cuts of meat will be crowned.
This international competition aims to identify the finest Striploin and Ribeye cuts globally, classified according to whether they come from grass-fed or grain-fed animals. Open to participants from around the world, samples may be submitted from July 1 to October 1, 2025.
Under a rigorous evaluation system, Meat Sommeliers, international experts, and consumers will select the world’s top cuts—setting new standards of quality for the industry.
The objectives of the World Meat Championship – CMDC® are to promote excellence in meat production, strengthen every link in the value chain, and encourage greater recognition of this noble product in consumers’ diets.
The CMDC® is organized by Dr. Luis Barcos—veterinarian and founder of the Argentine School of Meat Sommeliers and the Argentine School of Meat Trades—along with AmeriCarne magazine and Messe Frankfurt Argentina, the local branch of the world’s leading trade show organizer.
