CMDC 2025

Launch of the World Meat Championship (CMDC®): Argentina to Host the Event that Will Award the Best Cuts in the World

The CMDC® is an international competition that aims to identify the best Striploins and Ribeyes in the world, as well as highlight the producers behind them. The event seeks to promote excellence in meat production, connect the entire value chain, and foster global recognition of meat as a key component in consumer diets.

The competition is open to participants from around the world. Entrants must submit one whole Striploin and one whole Ribeye to compete in the CMDC®, and entries will be classified according to whether they come from grass-fed or grain-fed animals. Samples may be submitted from July 1 to October 1, 2025. Spots are limited and will be assigned in order of registration.

The evaluation will be carried out by three types of specialized juries: Meat Sommeliers, invited international experts, and Consumers. Gold, Silver, and Bronze medals will be awarded to the winners, and the results will be published on the official CMDC® website and shared on its social media channels.

The CMDC® is organized by Dr. Luis Barcos—Veterinarian and founder of the Argentine Meat Sommelier School and the Argentine Meat Trades School—together with AmeriCarne, the magazine that connects stakeholders across regional agri-food chains, and Messe Frankfurt Argentina, the local subsidiary of Messe Frankfurt GmbH, a global leader in professional trade fair organization.
